Photography For Your Website

As we have written previously, content is one of most important elements of building a professional and effective website. When a company thinks about the content for their website, there tends to be a focus on the text in a site. However, an important aspect of content is also the images used in a site. In particular, original photography.

The Process

Clutch Marketing has a process of working with clients to create original and creative photos for their websites.

It starts with understanding our client.

How do they want to be presented? There is no right and wrong to this answer. Some clients want a more traditional approach to their photo as they may operate in a very conservative market. Other clients want something leading edge and very creative. The common element that we strive for is that our clients end up looking professional.

Creative Direction

After getting a sense of our client’s style, we work with them to develop a creative direction for their website. This also determines if a photoshoot is required as well as the photography style. Additional parameters will be considered including if the shoot will be in studio and/or on set, hair & makeup, wardrobe, style, group or individuals, etc.

Executing the photoshoot includings coming up with a shooting schedule that outlines locations and times for each person to appear on set. Photos will be reviewed as the shoot progresses to ensure that the creative direction is executed.

Post Production

After the shoot, there is a process of selecting proofs, post-editing, and ultimately selecting final images for the site. During the post production process, we will often mock up various selections into the website design to help choose the best photo.
